The format

How the league works

Everything is defined up front: the format, the handicap allowance, the points and the tie-breaks. Nothing is decided after the fact.

Scoring

Handicap and shots received

Your course handicap uses your handicap index with the tee's slope and course rating where the committee has entered them, and falls back to your index rounded to the nearest whole shot where it hasn't.

Each event has its own handicap allowance percentage (for example 95% for an individual Stableford), which is applied to produce your playing handicap.

Shots are allocated one at a time from stroke index 1 upwards, wrapping round for playing handicaps above 18. Plus handicaps give shots back from the highest stroke index down.

Handicap indexes are entered by members and reviewed by the committee. There is no live connection to a handicapping authority — see the deferred integrations note on the rules page.

League points

Points and tie-breaks

Points and tie-break rules are stored against each season and can be edited by the committee.

Bookings

Places, waitlists and fourballs

Booking window

Each event has an opening and closing time. Outside that window the event shows as scheduled or closed and no new bookings are taken.

Waitlist

When capacity is reached, further requests join a numbered waitlist. The committee promotes waitlisted members in order as places free up.

Fourballs

The committee builds fourballs from confirmed bookings and publishes tee times. You'll see your group on your dashboard once it's set.
